Alcatel-Lucent, Hanaro Ink Deal for Optical Network Expansion

According to a recent Dow Jones report, Alcatel-Lucent and Hanaro, the leading Korean broadband service provider, have signed a cooperation agreement, whereby Alcatel-Lucent will provide its optical network solution for the latter to increase its network capacity. To be prepared for the upcoming interactive IPTV service, the deployment of Alcatel-Lucent's advanced optical network is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2007. Financial details of this deal however were not disclosed.
